Linux command to remove dupes in a wordlist?

hello, I've been having some technical difficulties  Allah
I'm trying to clean my 7.6GB wordlist from dupes. I've tried this command:
sort list.txt | uniq -u
The command gave me an error  Drewf
So what do i do?

What I've done:
Changed my mac-adress
Deleted all runique related files and re-downloaded client on a different IP
Tried ama's ban avoider
All of this didn't work, any way I can bypass this possible UID ban? (Not buying a new device).

Plookup Error 11/06/16

Noticed a bug ever since the Re-Design of the plookup.
Will use an example as not to leak info, and will happily PM staff the correct ones for them to test with.

The alias we will use as example is "JoeBindr" with the email "joe123bindr@gmail.com"
I search in plookup for "Joebindr" and it returns 0 results but lucky I know his email
So I search "joe123bindr@gmail.com" and it returns this:

Tonguelaintext_Ventrillica - game.txt
:joebindr:floppydick69:joe123bindr@gmail.com

:vb_Vanquishrsps - Oldest.txt
:joebindr:bigbreasts18:joe123bindr@gmail.com

:vb_Vanquish_new.txt

Why is it not returning results when a username is in there thats being searched, for it only to come up when searching email?
Note: I have tried changing caps etc and have done over the past 2 days.
Dont search joebindr he was just a example that I made up if staff want real info PM me

So I purchased a subscription to AWU a few hours ago and I have been trying to use the DB Look up but everytime I try it just loads for ever and then tells me it cant connect... can someone please help?

I have tried clearing cookies, Downloading firefox as a new browser. still nothing has worked.

bought premier got a hash I wanted to try clicked on hash look up and it says "The selected page seems to be invalid."
